This policy explains how Cowan Services LLC (“we”), which operates LeaveThemCovered.com, handles your information.

Tools don't collect your information

Our calculators, estimator, quiz and checklist run in your browser. We don't receive what you type into them. The checklist saves your check marks only in your own browser.

What we collect when you contact us

When you ask to talk with a licensed agent we collect what you enter — the type and amount of coverage you're interested in, your age, gender, tobacco use, general health, state and ZIP, and your name, email and phone number — along with the exact consent language you agreed to. We also record the page you came from, campaign tags in the link you used, your browser type, and a one-way hash of your IP address used to prevent spam. If you sign up for email, we store your email address and first name. If you call a number on this site, the call may be recorded and we log its time, duration and the number you called from.

How we use it

• To share your request with one participating licensed life insurance agent serving your state, so they can contact you.
• To send emails you asked for (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To prevent fraud, spam and duplicate requests, and to keep records of consent.
• To understand which pages are useful, using aggregated analytics.

Who we share it with

We share agent requests with the one participating agent who receives your request, and with service providers that host our website, database, email and phone systems. Because agents may pay us for requests, sharing your request may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under some state privacy laws. We never sell email-list subscribers' information, and we don't sell anyone's information to data brokers or marketing lists.

Your choices, including “do not sell or share”

You can ask us to stop sharing your request, tell you what we have, correct it, or delete it — and opt out of any future sale or sharing — through our contact page or by emailing help@leavethemcovered.com. You can tell any agent to stop contacting you at any time, and reply STOP to opt out of text messages.

Health information

The general health tier you choose (for example “excellent/good”) helps an agent suggest suitable policies. Please don't send us detailed medical records — an agent will ask for what an insurer needs directly.

Retention

We keep agent requests and consent records for up to 5 years to document consent, then delete them. Email subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to operate the site and may use Google Analytics to understand usage in aggregate. You can block cookies in your browser.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
